Senior Data Engineer

Our client, a national retail group, is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to strengthen their data platform team in Melbourne. You will design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest data from multiple source systems into a modern lakehouse architecture on AWS and Snowflake. Technologies in use include AWS Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, S3, Redshift, Step Functions, dbt and Terraform. You will also improve data quality, observability and cost efficiency while mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, strong Python and SQL skills, and solid production experience with AWS data services. Experience with Snowflake, Airflow or similar orchestration tools, and Infrastructure as Code is highly valued. AWS Certified Data Analytics Specialty or Solutions Architect certification is a plus. You should be comfortable working in an Agile environment, collaborating with analysts, data scientists and business stakeholders, and taking ownership of production systems. Salary is in the range of $150,000 – $180,000 + super. The role is hybrid with a modern office in the Melbourne CBD.
