Software Architect

Our client, an established software product company, is looking for a Software Architect to lead the technical direction of their core platform in Melbourne. You will define and evolve the overall system architecture, establish coding and design standards, evaluate new technologies, and guide engineering teams on complex design decisions. The platform is built on modern microservices and event-driven principles, running primarily on AWS. You will also participate in recruitment, mentoring and technical governance. We are seeking candidates with 8+ years of software development experience, including at least 3 years in an architecture or principal engineer capacity. Deep expertise in distributed systems, API design, data modelling and cloud-native patterns is required. Strong communication skills and the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders are essential. Experience with AWS and domain-driven design is highly valued. This senior role comes with a package of $180,000 – $210,000 + super + equity, hybrid working, and significant influence over the product’s technical future.
